An app for people who already own the boxes
Little Labs sells hardware that lasts thirty years and changes hands three or four times. The app follows the serial number, not the buyer. It registers the unit, keeps the manual and the tear sheet with it, shows how working engineers have it patched, and sets the front panel for the job in front of you.
Four screens, coded rather than drawn, so what is on this page is the build. We shipped an app like this for Darryl Jones's bass owners: JMI Backstage, on TestFlight now, register-by-serial and an owners feed behind it.

The serial is the account
A Little Labs box outlives the studio it was bought for. Registration that lives on the unit, not on the first purchaser, is the only kind that survives a sale, and it is the only way Little Labs ever finds out who is using the hardware now.
Scanning the plate does three things at once: it starts the warranty, it pins the manual and tear sheet to that specific unit, and it tells the shop which revision the owner has, which is the first question every support email has to ask today.
What Little Labs gets: a live map of the installed base, by product, by revision, by city. Thirty-eight years of units, findable for the first time.

The best writing on the site, delivered
The FAQ on littlelabs.com already contains the answer to the router question, the tape machine question, and the difference between a polarity flip and a phase shift. Nobody reads an FAQ. Everybody reads a feed.
Every post is tied to a product, so the app can hold one back until it is relevant. An owner with three quarter-rack boxes and no rack kit sees the rack kit post. An owner with a Redeye sees the re-amp technique. Nobody gets a newsletter.
What Little Labs gets: a direct channel to every owner, without an email list, and the first honest read on which products people actually use once they get them home.

The roster is buried in a paragraph
Eighteen of the most recorded engineers alive are named at the bottom of one product page on littlelabs.com, in a run-on paragraph, below the fold. That list is the strongest sales argument the company has and it is currently set in body copy.
As a screen it becomes something an owner opens on purpose: the actual signal path, box by box, with the front-panel switch positions, and the one unit in the chain they do not own yet drawn as a dashed outline.
What Little Labs gets: the catalogue sells itself sideways. Nobody is being advertised to. They are looking at how Barresi wires a guitar day and noticing the empty slot.

The app knows every front panel
This is the screen no other manufacturer can build, because it needs two things at once: the exact switch legend on every box in the catalogue, and thirty-eight years of knowing which position is right for which job. Little Labs has both, in Jonathan Little's head and in the manuals.
You say what you are trying to do. The app looks at what is registered to your rack, picks the unit, and shows the front panel with the switches already set, in the same lowercase legend printed on the hardware. Then it saves the setting to that serial number so the next session starts where this one ended.
Why it is the signature: everything else in the app is a good owners app. This one is only possible if you built the boxes. It turns the catalogue into an instrument that answers questions, and it is the reason an engineer keeps the app on the home screen instead of deleting it after registration.
